Was Rome built in a day? Surely not. Realistically speaking, your book will not be popular in a day. Or a week. Or a month.
Many writers and indie-writers specifically are often prone to thinking that self- publishing is a magic wand where they have total control over things related to their book. Their book(s) will be successful, often in direct proportion to their marketing and promoting efforts. It is true that indie authors do yield a lot of control over their books: how they are priced, the royalties they demand but a sale, my dear authors, is an area where the reader has total control.
